Environment, Social and Governance

The essence of Cosette is that of conscious curation, offering our customers an avenue to luxury goods within an innovative and ethical environment. We remain committed to working towards the betterment of our planet and our people. At present, we are proud to offer a business model for overstock product to be available for purchase, reducing landfill and excessive destruction of merchandise. To further our pledge for an inclusive and sustainable future for fashion and the world at large, we have identified three key pillars housing strategic targets to ensure the vision of Cosette continues to employ an ethos of environmental and social responsibility. Our team is united in our efforts to contribute positive change from a grassroots to global scale.

The Products We Love

It is front of mind to ensure our brand portfolio is mindful of environmental transparency, championing seasonless lasting luxury for a true circular approach.

Our drive is to cultivate a platform that inspires our community to invest in consciously made, responsibly crafted products that stand the test of time.

  • We will continue to offer a streamlined pathway for overstock goods to be available for purchase, thus decreasing landfill or unnecessary destruction of goods.
  • Our team will identify and commit to advocate brands within our portfolio leading the industry within their internal ESG policies and/or corporation group policies; i.e.:
  • Stella McCartney (sustainable and cruelty-free) · Chloé (B Corp certified) · Dior (Positive Luxury's Butterfly Mark certification).
  • A strong focus on expanding our product offering to include a wider selection of non-leather, regenerated or upcycled materials by June 2023, and ensuring our product offering is inclusive of items manufactured using processes that reduce resource use and pollution.
  • Sustained and on-going internal education with buyers and sales associates across new innovations in sustainable materials and practices within our brand portfolio, highlighted across our e-commerce platform and storefront.
  • Providing care guides and eco-friendly care products to support the longevity of our products.

The Planet We Love

Reducing the impact of our operations to create a sustainable, circular and inclusive business is integral to our present and our future.

We understand and are driven to utilise the latest innovations in packaging, distribution and energy use to foster minimal environmental impact.

  • Our team is consistent in implementing improvement and upgrades in Cosette packaging, utilising responsibly sourced and recycled materials, ensuring Cosette gift boxes are fold flat for ease of recycling and contain no plastic-based tapes or non-eco-friendly adhesives.
  • We are extending our waste reduction efforts by limiting hardcopy invoicing for customers and offering paperless communication.
  • Conducting periodical environmental audits and assessments, to ensure our sustainability targets remain above industry standard and assuring full transparency in progress updates with our brand partners and clientele.
  • Our roadmap is dedicated to sourcing energy efficient alternatives across the business, starting with carbon neutrality by end of 2023 and adapting business channels to mitigate climate change. Our focus remains exploring renewable energy/energy reduction options where available for the business to promote a climate friendly system and taking action to increase energy efficiency across packaging, distribution and retail.
  • Engaging with our current freight suppliers (DHL, TNT, UPS and Startrack) on their current sustainability options to encourage a cleaner distribution method, with an aim to achieve ~10% reduction in carbon neutrality at no cost across 2023 and beyond.
  • Providing a clear understanding of the cost and application of carbon offsets and determining a potential additional pricing option at checkout at the election and cost of the purchaser.
